Just over the stone wall is the canal. I think the Korsan bar is now in front of this wall. In those days there was nothing on either side of the canal!!

I stayed at the Aqua hotel in 1992 and from the balcony we could see straight to what is now Venice.
We have photos taken from the lifts in both directions and apart from the Kontes and the Marti hotel it was mainly small cafes.
